Introduction to Klinefelter Syndrome
Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition that occurs in males when they have an extra X chromosome. Typically, males have one X and one Y chromosome (XY), but individuals with Klinefelter syndrome have at least two X chromosomes and one Y chromosome (XXY). This additional genetic material can cause a variety of physical, developmental, and behavioral differences.
It is important to note that Klinefelter syndrome is not inherited from the parents, but rather occurs as a result of a random error during cell division.
