Introduction to Orthorexia
Orthorexia is an eating disorder that involves an unhealthy obsession with eating only "clean" or "pure" foods. While it is not yet officially recognized as a clinical diagnosis in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), it is still a serious condition that can have detrimental effects on physical and mental health. People with orthorexia may become fixated on the quality and purity of their food, often to the point where it becomes their main focus in life.
