In a quest for better health in golden years, the role of a balanced diet cannot be overemphasized. The body's requirements change as one ages, demanding modifications in diet to accommodate these changes, ideally a diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and low-fat dairy. Regular consumption of these nutritious foods has been associated with minimizing the risks of chronic diseases, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, prevalent among older adults.
