Skin picking disorder, also known as excoriation disorder or dermatillomania, is a mental health condition characterized by the repetitive and compulsive picking, scratching, or touching of the skin. It is classified as an impulse control disorder and often leads to noticeable skin damage and distress. People with skin picking disorder may find it difficult to resist the urge to pick at their skin, resulting in open sores, scabs, and scars.
